For my tribute project I found myself inspired by an artist named William Kentridge. His work with animation with charcoal drawings was a form I have never seen before and it grabbed my attention instantly. He also uses deep speeches over his work and I find that to be a solid technique to bring the audience in. I used his techniques in my tribute video to his work.
